Kamilari
Kamilari is an ideal Ayurvedic
preparation for liver disorders, highly effective for jaundice, acute and
chronic inflammatory liver disorders, dyspepsia, loss of appetite etc., in various
heptatocellular and heptocanalicular conditions. It is a popular marketed antihepatotoxic ayurvedic
preparation which has been clinically evaluated for its efficicacy in viral
hepatitis. The study shows that KAMILARI is useful as an antihepatotoxic agent
as it significantly reduces serum bilirubin. ALT and AST values within a week
of treatment.

From the
investigations carried out in limited number of patients it is concluded that
the product 'Kamilari Plus' has a possible therapeutic effect against HIV
infection. The reversal of CD4+/CD8+ ratio in one patient is in support of the
therapeutic effectiveness of the drug. Since the study was carried out on
limited number of patients no definite conclusions can be drawn. The drug may
have some usefulness in a palliative treatment of HIV infection.
