Detail profiling of Electrical Locomotives (TRC 1000MN): -
Applications:
The compressed air from TRC 1000 MN
is applied for operations like tap changes, contactors, relays and brakes. Apart
from these applications, it is used for operating horns and wind screen wipers
in the locomotive. Reciprocating air compressor model TRC 1000 MN is designed
for use in AC Electric Locomotives manufactured by CLW, Chittaranjan.

TRC 1000MN compressor is of W-type
configuration, 3 cylinders, 2 stages, oil splash lubricated, air cooled, direct
coupled and powered by an AC motor.

rotary screw compressors
ELGI Micro Rotary Compressor is the
world's smallest industrial screw air compressor. This miniature air compressor
has been completely designed, developed and manufactured by ELGI Equipments
Limited.
The most unique aspect of ELGI Micro Rotary Compressor is the
engineering excellence that has gone into building an air compressor of such
small dimensions and yet capable of supplying compressed air for industrial
applications. It is almost unimaginable that a screw air compressor with rotors
of diameter 28 mm and 35mm can give an output of compressed air ranging from 1
to 300 lpm. Besides the range of compressed air output, the ELGI Micro Rotary
Compressor's other desirable characteristics include high efficiency, low
noise, and high reliability. This small compressor is a true display of ELGI's
exceptional design and manufacturing capability.
Ideally this compressor is designed
to give 33 lpm of compressed air at a rotor speed of 2880 rpm, with a power consumption
rate of just 0.22 kW. The ELGI Micro Rotary Compressor can also be applied for
heavy-duty applications with rotor speeds of up 20,000 rpm, producing
proportionally larger volumes of compressed air. The ELGI Micro Rotary
Compressor has a minimum life of about 100,000 hours, which is fifteen times
greater than a reciprocating compressor of the same power range.
